HGB rehabilitation services has outgrown its current space in EMPOWER. Patient volumes have increased more than 45 percent in the past six years in part due to the excellent care received and also because we have continued to add services to better meet all our customers’ needs.
In addition to occupational, physical and speech therapy, we have expanded or added:
• Women’s health services
• Lymphedema treatment
• Functional Movement Screening
• ImPACT concussion testing
• LSVT LOUD and BIG (Parkinson’s therapy)
• Graston Technique services offered by therapists in FUSE
• Pain management services
• Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (ONMM)
With more patients and more services, we have also added team members. We had 18 therapists and support staff when EMPOWER opened. The team has grown to 30 employees, including 20 clinicians, and we are planning to add two more.
To accommodate the growth, EMPOWER will be expanding this summer into the FUSE, or medical spa, area. Once renovations are complete occupational and speech therapy, dietary, women’s health-related services, and ONMM will move into the updated space. Occupational therapy will operate in what is now DISCOVER (effective Mon., June 4, 2018), which means programming normally scheduled in that room will move into other spaces at AL!VE. ENGAGE, the smaller meeting room near FUSE, will not be impacted and will still be available to use as a community gathering space. ENGAGE accommodates up to twelve people and is free when it is booked within two weeks of the reserved time.
During and after construction FUSE will continue to run with no impact to operations or guest experience. We will keep customers and visitors informed if any changes are made.
We thank you for your patience during the renovations. Please let EMPOWER staff know if you have any questions.
