MOVE at AL!VE introduces CrossFit

MOVE, the fitness center at AL!VE, welcomes CrossFit Fade to its wide-ranging list of fitness programs offered. Led by certified kettle bell trainer Eric McGill, CrossFit is intended for all ages and fitness levels.

CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program with the goal of helping improve cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy. CrossFit optimizes fitness through varied functional movements performed at a relatively high intensity, McGill said.

“We are excited to expand the CrossFit community to the greater Charlotte area,” said McGill, who has been a fitness trainer for more than 10 years. “Our mission at CrossFit Fade is to provide a great atmosphere for everyone to have fun, get healthy or stay healthy, and build long lasting relationships.”

Free class samplers provide an opportunity to ask questions check out the new CrossFit program at no cost. They are scheduled at 6 a.m., 10 a.m., 5:30 p.m., and 7:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 22 through Thursday, Sept. 25, at 6 a.m., 10 a.m., and 5:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 26, or at 9 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 27 as part of AL!VE’s Family Health and Fitness Day celebration.

“We are excited to offer this new fitness option at AL!VE,” said Patrick Sustrich, executive director of AL!VE. “Eric and his team are highly skilled and trained, and we look forward to helping community members reach their fitness goals.”

CrossFit classes will begin Wednesday, Oct. 1, with sessions offered Monday through Saturday. The cost is $15 per class or $75 per month.
