Hayley has been a practicing clinical dietitian since 2022, now working for Sparrow Eaton Hospital. She is a graduate of Michigan State University with a background in culinary arts, having worked as a chef prior to her career in nutrition. Hayley works with patients at AL!VE in both the diabetes education and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program. She also counsels’ patients 1:1 to discuss medical nutrition therapy and their dietary goals.

In honor of National Nutrition Month (March), it’s appropriate to discuss some methods to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into your diet. Why? Fruits and vegetables are a part of a healthy, balanced plate which includes: lean proteins, complex carbohydrates, fruits, vegetables, and dairy. They support a healthy diet in a multitude of ways including keeping you full for longer periods from a richness in fiber, improving your gut health and function, helping lower cholesterol, and improving blood pressure – just to name a few.
