History

AL!VE was brought to life through the vision and generosity of our community, with the core mission to provide quality and affordable care for patients while enhancing the vitality of the region. In 2007 the local hospital commissioned an evaluation of its campus to determine its capacity to fulfill that vision. The outcome of that study revealed a number of realities including parking limitations, the need for a space with more flexibility allowing for development of new services for emerging markets and inhibitive costs of renovating existing buildings. Accordingly, the former Felpausch grocery store site was purchased with the goal of addressing these needs and to transform an otherwise abandoned site into a valued community asset called AL!VE – a community health park.

The evolution of AL!VE took place over a two year period, stemming from the core values of our hospital. It is an integrating, meaningful part of our organization that provides clinical and non-clinical services to mid-Michigan. What came to life in late 2011 has now surpassed a decade of service, expansion in services, growth in visitors and numerous renovations. AL!VE is grateful to the generous support of dozens of community  members who believe in its’ mission and helped generously donate to its’ existence.
